Brightwell Aquatics FlorinBase Laterite Powder - 600 Gram is a nutrient-rich laterite powder for use beneath gravel or substrate in freshwater planted aquariums. It provides long-term mineral availability with properties similar to clay soils found in natural aquatic plant habitats.
Brightwell FlorinBase Laterite Powder for Planted Aquarium Substrate
FlorinBase Laterite Powder is intended as a base-layer substrate additive for new planted aquarium setups. Placed below the main substrate, it gives plant roots access to iron-rich mineral material while keeping the nutrient layer away from the water column when properly capped.

FlorinBase Laterite Powder Directions for New Aquariums
For a new setup, sprinkle the powder evenly over the bottom surface of the dry aquarium before adding gravel or other substrate. Use approximately 15 g per US gallon of aquarium capacity, up to a maximum of 30 g per US gallon. For best results, cover the laterite powder with a suitable substrate layer before filling the aquarium. Add water carefully to reduce disturbance and clouding, then plant rooted aquarium plants so their roots can access the nutrient-rich base layer over time.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
- The Affirm service charge does not apply to confirmed defective or warranty returns.
