      Flipper AquaVac Gravel Cleaner

      Overview

The Flipper AquaVac is a gravel and sand cleaner with a built-in siphon option so you can trap debris with a fine 50 micron sock or perform fast water changes using the hose. Its modular tube design reaches deeper tanks while maintaining strong consistent flow for efficient substrate maintenance.

      Features

      • Dual-purpose operation: debris capture with 50 micron filter sock or standard siphon water change
      • Squeeze-ball activated siphon with dual one-way safety valve for easy starts and fewer messes
      • Modular hard tubes extend working depth to ~26" for a wide range of aquariums
      • Includes 6 ft flexible silicone tubing for comfortable bucket-to-tank distance
      • Works with gravel or sand in freshwater or saltwater systems

      Specifications

      • Media capture: 50 micron filter sock or direct-to-hose mode
      • Max working depth: up to ~26" (with modular tubes)
      • Tubing length: ~6 ft flexible silicone
      • Operation: manual squeeze-ball primer with dual one-way valve
      • Use case: Gravel/sand cleaning and water changes

      Compatibility and Placement

      • Compatible with most straight-sided aquariums; safe for freshwater and marine
      • Use with buckets or drain lines; ensure hose end is always below waterline to maintain siphon
      • Not intended for vacuuming deep sand beds aggressively; use gentle passes to avoid compaction

      Maintenance and Lifespan

      • Rinse filter sock after each use; replace if pores clog or flow declines
      • Flush tubing with clean water; hang to dry to prevent biofilm buildup
      • Inspect one-way valves and primer bulb periodically for wear

      Directions

      1. Assemble the number of rigid tubes needed for your tank depth
      2. Choose filter sock mode (for debris trapping) or hose mode (for water changes)
      3. Place the intake in the substrate and squeeze the primer bulb to start flow
      4. Vacuum in overlapping passes; lift and swirl gently over sand to release detritus

      • 50 micron filter sock
      • Siphon hose adapter
