Ozone, when used properly, is one of the best methods of improving water quality, reducing/eliminating unwanted algae and improving not only your fish's health but the general health in an aquarium.
Ozonizers are capable of killing bacteria, algae spores, parasites, and other harmful pathogens in your aquarium.
Additionally, Ozone will raise your aquarium's ORP levels (oxidation and reduction potential) which helps to break down harmful waste in your aquarium. Ozone also improves water clarity for better light penetration and many hobbyists experience better efficiency from their protein skimmers when using ozone.
It is highly recommended that Ozonizers be used with an ORP controller, or a controller that can measure orp levels.
