      Red Lizard Whiptail Catfish

      Rineloricaria sp.

Red Lizard Whiptail Catfish are a great addition to a peaceful community tank and will earn their keep by grazing on algae growth in the tank to help keep the place clean!

They like to keep the company of others of their kind, so keeping a group of at least 3 together would make them very comfortable in their new home. They will also get along with many other tank mates, as well as other bottom dwelling fish like Corydoras. T

hey will not do well in tanks with aggressive or predatory fish, so larger fish should be avoided. They will like their tanks to be well-planted with plenty of hiding spots like caves as well as pieces of driftwood.

They are primarily herbivores, so a diet of algae wafers, blanched vegetables (zucchini or cucumber), and sinking pellets will provide a good diet for them. They will also graze on algae growth.

      Red Lizard Catfish Specifics

They grow to a size of roughly 4-1/2" and a group of three or more should be placed in a tank of at least 30 gallons. They would like the water temperature to be kept between 75-84o, a pH between 6.0-7.5.
